Today my daughter was very cooperative with the "photo shoot". Luckily I still had some sun to work with. The 1st picture was my favorite and the second was my hers. I wish I could have blurred the background more. Can anyone tell me why my camera would not let me go below f4.0?
1/125, f4.0, ISO 200, Focal Length 25.0mm, Cropped and slightly lightened.
1/160, f4.0, ISO 200, Focal Length 25.0mm, SOOC
Now that I see the photos from a distance, I have to agree with Sheryl, I love the light in the first one, but I like the pose better in the second one. For true CC purposes, I would have placed her more toward the top and right in the second one to follow the Rule of Thirds :) Otherwise good job!
ReplyDeleteChris, Thanks for the feedback. I agree about the positioning. I might go back and try to crop it. I also don't like the chairs in the back, they seem to be distracting.
ReplyDeleteWhen you photograph people, you usually have 2 choices for backgrounds: a clean background with very little distractions, or use a large aperture (small f-number) to blur your background. That last one usually mean you have to get pretty close. A blurred background can look very pleasing to the eye :)
