About Me

My photo
In the last few years I have yearned for something more, something to push my creativity and challenge my mind. Through the 365 Project and Photography I have found a passion that has filled a hole in my heart. A sense of being and a meaning to my life. I hope my pictures live on forever even if only through my children and my blog.

#3 Upside Down

A fish eyes view of my DDs room. Can you see my kitty in the glass?

I don't like the black under the glass, but it was originally on white and it gave me a terrible glare on the glass.

#2 Upside Down

OK, this isn't totally original. I saw something similar to it and had to give it a try. It was harder then I thought to get the angles correct. And I wanted to make it a self portrait and don't have a remote timer, so I had to shoot and run.

#5 Eyes

I love the different colors in my DD's eyes. She says the blue is from her dad and the gold from me.

#2 Eyes

I wasn't going to post this shot or any of the self portrait shots I tried to take today, but DH liked it and said I should. There are issues with this shot that I have to learn how to overcome when shooting a self portrait besides that I rarely like pictures of myself. It was hard to get the correct exposure for this shot, I should have used a reflector and my focus laded on the hat and not my eyes, but I'm posting it anyway.

I followed a tutorial on airbrushing skin and got this result. I think it's much better than the original, below.

#4 Colors of the rainbow

I know the colors are subtle, but I had to get a shot of this cute little hat I saw at the children's section of the horticultural gardens. Apparently a child left it behind and someone placed it on the fence post in hope that it's owner would come back for it.

#6 Unfocused

I been wanting to do a "Spooky" shot all week. Finally got my DD to cooperate for about 10 shots. I love the 1st shot, but not quite what I was trying for. The 2nd is more of what I wanted, a "ghost" look, by I hate the composition.

#4 Unfocused

I'm undecided on the 1st shot. I think the issue I have is that the sky is so light blue. So I also included a 2nd shot.

#1 Unfocused

This is going to be a challenging week. Focus is one of my pet peeves so I'm having a hard time seeing what would be a good shot unfocused. I chose this shot because your eye goes to the leaves 1st and then you noticed my cat in the background. I also like the how the green in her eyes match the leaves and her pink lips match the little pink speck on the ground.

#7 Object that tells about me

Most of my life I have felt that I have to be strong and couldn't be "girly". I thought watching "girly" movies and crying at them or crying at anything showed that I was weak. I think this goes back to being teased as a kid and being the oldest. This has worked to a point as I believe it has helped me in my career and to get my current Management job, but it has also caused me to miss things in life. In the last few years I have taken small steps to "feel" my emotions, like watching "girly" movies and crying, but when no ones home. I even let myself get teary eyed at the movies with my DH and over books. This is where my pink lip gloss comes in. I used to hate pink, it was too "girly", now pink is my favorite color, it can be soft and sweet or vibrant and sexy. My pink lipgloss lets me feel "girly" everyday, even when I have a Power Meeting at work.

#6 Object that tells about me

I love my bike, but can't seem to find enough time to ride it. I try to get out about once a week. I do take it on vacations with me. It has been to Myrtle Beach, SC, Charleston, SC, Southport, NC, Candor, NY & Hershey, PA.

#4 & 5 Object that tells something about me

I love animals. I shot these while visiting my cousin Herbie this past Saturday. He owns 3 horses, 2 pigs, 2 goats, chickens and a turkey.

#3 Object that tells something about me

I love to go to amusement parks, the roller coasters are my favorite. I wish I could have gotten a good shot of one, but the trees blocked my view, so i had to settle for the ferris wheel.
