About Me

My photo
In the last few years I have yearned for something more, something to push my creativity and challenge my mind. Through the 365 Project and Photography I have found a passion that has filled a hole in my heart. A sense of being and a meaning to my life. I hope my pictures live on forever even if only through my children and my blog.

340 Through the eyes of a child

 A view of a dog through a child's eyes.

I was playing around with my new 50mm lens and decided to take a child's eye view of my dog. She is a very sweet girl and loves kids, but from this perspective she looks kind of scary. Now I understand why little kids are afraid of dogs.

Here's one from this past summer that I found while loading pictures onto Flickr.

Elizabeth

I found this great spot for some cool pictures and Elizabeth willing to be my model, problem was that the weather turned to rain. We decided to try some shots anyway as we won't get another opportunity till after Christmas. I will definitely be taking more pictures at this location. I love the "Grunge" feel.

I'm not thrilled with her expression with this last one, but love the pose. She was cold and ready to leave.

Chapter 5 Portrait & Candid Photography

I used a picture I cut from a magazine as a reference. I already knew a location that would give me the backlighting I wanted and we got there when the light was low on the horizon. I used a home made reflector. I also had my DD wear a solid color.

I'd like to do this shot again as I had to  do a lot of PP because my home made reflector was too bright. I'm thinking of trying white foam core next time.

We have a cabinet that is filled with wine glasses from Local wineries. My DH and I love to tour wineries and collect the glasses, after we do a tasting :)

322 Red

I had to take my 2 daughters to Southern Pines to be in the Christmas Parade. I wasn't going to stay because it was so cold and I had so much to do, but I thought maybe I can get a good red picture. I loved this shot. I actually saw the girl with the pigtails waiting for the parade with her head away from me. The 1st shot was of both her and the boy in the red hat looking down the road, then the boy looked towards me and I got it!

How is the skin tone? I have started to use the "correct skin tone" in Elements. Is it OK?
