About Me

My photo
In the last few years I have yearned for something more, something to push my creativity and challenge my mind. Through the 365 Project and Photography I have found a passion that has filled a hole in my heart. A sense of being and a meaning to my life. I hope my pictures live on forever even if only through my children and my blog.

#6 Capturing Motion

Here's my take on water droplets. I thought the Purple & Pink background would look pretty cool, but I think it makes the shot to busy. Also, I have too much light on the left. I guess it's OK for my 1st attempt.

I actually took this with my 55mm and cropped. DH went to Wolf Camera to get me some close-up filters, but they were out. I plan to order them on-line tomorrow.

  1. You did great, Suzanne! Care to share your set-up for this...I have been afraid to try it since I don't have a macro lens, but I'd love to give it a shot :)

  2. Keri,
Go to this site for the tutorial. http://strobist.blogspot.com/2009/05/how-to-photograph-water-drops-with-one.html
I wouldn't recommend using a black bowl like I did. Also, Larry used wrapping paper for the flash to bounce off of and it looked great.
