I completed my 365 day project in January of 2011 and now use this site to share some of my favorite images.
About Me
- Suzanne Kirkman
- In the last few years I have yearned for something more, something to push my creativity and challenge my mind. Through the 365 Project and Photography I have found a passion that has filled a hole in my heart. A sense of being and a meaning to my life. I hope my pictures live on forever even if only through my children and my blog.

#2 Fall
My DD convinced me to buy this Halloween cookie for her party by saying I could take a picture of it for the 365 project, smart girl.
#1 Fall
To most this would not represent fall, but it brings back a favorite childhood memory for me. When I was little we lived by an apple orchard and in the fall we would go there to get fresh apple cider and apples. They also had a petting zoo and every year I looked forward to our trip just so I could pet the animals. So yesterday when I saw this little girl feeding the goat out of a Halloween bucket I had to get her picture.

#2 Close-up/Fill the frame
This will be an interesting week for me. DD told me I shouldn't take picts of flowers all week, so I decided to take her challenge.

#7 Water
I went to the local pond this morning hoping to get a good shot. I was taking some boring shots of geese when I spied three ducks off in a corner. I went over to see them and found that one was sitting on eggs. I was unable to get a good shot of Mom and eggs, but I got a good shot of the eggs. I still didn't have a water shot so I followed them around for a little while till they moved close to the bank and was able to get one of the ducks and their reflection.
On a side note. I can't believe all the little things I see now that I never saw before I became a photographer. Photography has forced me to slow down and see all the wonderful things around me :)

Architectural competition
I joined Sandhills Photography Club a few months ago and I just entered my 1st competition. The competition was Architectural Photography, in which I am not that confident. To my surprise I won 2nd and 3rd place in the "B" group (not ready to enter in "A" yet). Here are my shots in order.

#1 Water
I struggled with this shot. I saw these canoes and loved the different colors. I took shots from several different angles and they looked good on camera. When I got home they were very dark. I wanted to keep some of the shadows, but still get the pretty colors, so I worked on in Elements. Still not 100% happy, but it will have to do.

#4 Trees
I have passed by this tree everyday to and from work thinking I need to get a picture of it. Finally a theme to make me stop and shot it. I had a sunflare shot & some color shots, but DD and I liked the "Spooky" B&W. Made us think of the movie "The Ring".
